'Fabulous Gay Icons Exhibition & Swish, Funky Dining!'

Saturday 17th October 2009

1.30pm

The Fabulous 'Gay Icons Exhibition @ The National Portrait Gallery!'

This is one of the last opportunities to view this wonderfully interesting photographic exhibition as it is soon coming to an end and the first time the gallery has exclusively featured gay people and gay icons. The exhibition explores gay and cultural history through the unique personal insights of 10 high profile gay figures.

The chosen 10, including Sir Ian McKellen, Elton John and Billie Jean King, were asked to choose 6 of their heroes from whom they have found inspiration. Both gay and straight icons are featured, some from political, artistic and musical worlds, some heroic, some very famous and some relatively unknown.

Actor/Presenter Sandi Toksvig and chair of the selecting panel commented, " I do think people are going to be very surprised by the names on this list. They are personal choices and the selectors have found inspiration in different places. Every kind of human being is in this selection and I think it is absolutely fantastic."

following our thoroughly interesting exhibition, we head to our swish dining experience @ our restaurant known to be...

"The sleekest Scottish restaurant & bar in the City!"

This tasteful restaurant combines an elegant Scottish air with a funky laid back atmosphere.

£37.00

(price includes entry to Gay Icons Exhibition & 2 course meal)

'Christmas Event!'

'Unique Festive fun in the heart of London!'

Saturday 5th December 2009

4.00pm

'Cocktail & Unique Experience @ The Spectacular Absolut IceBar!'

This bar is unlike anything else in the UK. With an environment of -5 degrees centigrade, absolutely everything from the walls, bar, bar stools and even the glass we drink from, is made from crystal clear ice, harvested especially from the frozen Torne River in Jukkasjarvi, Northern Sweden! This year Absolut Icebar's latest theme takes its inspiration from the deep, dark, aquatic underworld!

We then warm up with a brisk walk through London's Regent Street, encapsulating the traditional and stunning 'Christmas Lights',  illuinating the night's sky! This years theme is based on Charles Dickens, 'A Christmas Carol'...

continuing our evening in the warmth and cosiness @ another hidden gem for our

'Contemporary European Dining...'

This latest restaurant from Chris Corbin and Jeremy King, owners of The Wolseley and former proprietors of The Ivy, J Sheekey and Le Caprice, offers comfortable and warm, contemporary surroundings. Boasting its interior design from Stiff & Trevillion and Michael Craig Martin, its walls and windows are decorated with murals, whilst complementing the artwork of Damien Hirst...

'Controversial and ostensibly shocking!'

Saturday 16th January 2010

3.30pm

Pop Life @ the Tate Modern

'Art in a Material World'

This is the last opportunity to view this controversial exhibition which purports Andy Warhol as being the first modern artist to combine Art and Commerce, with later generations of artists following in his footsteps. Thus instead of commenting on or representing mass media culture, these modern artists actively penetrate the marketplace as a deliberate strategy to create their own signature brands.
The artists represented in this exhibition include Tracey Emin, Damien Hirst, Martin Krippenberger, Keith Harding, Jeff Koons and Takashi Murakami.

Described as a 'rhinestones-and-fast-cars kind of a show', this exhibition takes Andy Wahols notorious provocation good business is the best art as a starting point in reconsidering the legacy of Pop Art.

After our fix of manic art, we head off to our nearby restaurant for our...

'Chic Riverview Dining'

This is one of the Northbank's newest restaurants and depicted to be a hot spot 'River Hang Out'. The owner Christian Butler along with Head Chef Peter Woods (formerly at the Belvedere and La Tante Claire), work closely together to deliver an 'English West Country' inspired menu, promising freshly sourced produce...

£47.00

(Price includes entry to 'Art in a Material World' Exhibition & 3 course meal)
